he's! Today was seriously stressful. We went through the test papers and I wanted to just.. Doze off..
seriously; im addicted to blogging. blogging <3> blogging <3>
today was sweaty, smelly and tired. ;] heha. how do you pronounce tired? just for a joke; Mr Tien says its pronounced at TIE-RAD, hahahaha. I'm somehow nuts; and sometimes when i see sarah i laugh alot. so; today after recess, i was drinking water and sarah suddenly turn her head towards me and i spray all the water in my mouth on sarah's face! lolol. hahaha. besides that; it seems that nothing much happened. so i shall post about my english compre passage open-ended.
It was about Singapore in the past; when a quota system restricted the number of men working in Singapore, the women came instead. The AHMAHS and SAN SHUI WOMEN were one of the few of jobs. Ahmahs wore white tunics and black pants; and also wore their hair in long plaits. They worked as nannies. San Shui women wore scarlet head dresses and blue tunics, and they worked as construction workers. Both were sturdy and independent illiterate women.

There was a paragraph on the Straits-born Chinese women, also known as the Peranakans. Their laguage was a mix of Hokkien, Malay and Chinese. In the past, they were required to learn the art of peranakan cooking and embroidery. woot, luckyduck! Im a Peranakan and luckily, now the Peranakan women were not required to learn cooking and embroidery. Or else i wouldnt be a good peranakan woman! haha, their costumes(known as the Nyonya Kebaya) are really pretty, with colourful beads and materials. They also wore pretty slippers, and heres a pic of it! ;] these slippers' patterns are completely made of beads. =====================> heres a doll wearing the costume; Nyonya Kebaya. The background is ceramic tiles that are usually found on the exterior of the Peranakan shophouses in Malacca. The tiles were once imported by the Dutch traders.

What i feel is that the passage was good; both informative and interesting. The women really proved that they were useful; and they made their mark in Singapore. urghx.. that was a whole lot was info, and LOTS OF HERITAGE STUFF.
hahahah. hmm. thats all for today.. SEEYAS! ;] rockit.
